Workshop on Radiochemistry by BARC Scientist at USTM
9th Mile,
September 18, 2018: The University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM)
in collaboration with Indian Association of Nuclear Chemists and allied
Scientists (IANCAS) from Radiochemistry Division, Bhabha Atomic Research Center,
Bombay is organizing a six-day long national workshop on ‘Radiochemistry and
Applications of Radioisotopes’ from 1st to 6th October 2018 at the University
campus.
The workshop, sponsored by Board of Research in Nuclear Sciences (BRNS),
Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Bhabha Atomic Research Center, Mumbai will
provide an excellent platform for the participants for mutual interactions with
the eminent scientists mostly from BARC and also from other premier institutes
of the country which will help them update their knowledge with their latest
developments in the field of Radiochemistry and Radioisotopes. The technical
sessions will be supplemented by laboratory experiments and hands on training
which will be of immense benefit to the participants. In addition, special
sessions will be held on research funding opportunities in Basic and Nuclear
Sciences for the benefit of the participants associated with teaching and
research.
The workshop will cover different aspects of nuclear Physics and Chemistry with
emphasis on radioisotopes and its applications in Health Care, Industry,
Agriculture, Food and Research. Research Scholars, faculty members belonging to
Chemistry, Physics, Biosciences, Health Sciences, and Environmental Sciences
including Radiologists and Scientific Officers engaged in Radiology Departments
of Medical Colleges and Hospitals can join the workshop and apply via mail to
iancasustm2018@gmail.com. In the valedictory session, certificates will be
