ACS Topper Felicitated and Rewarded at ERDF

GUWAHATI,
November 17, 2018: Maria Tanim, the topper of ACS Examination 2016, results
of which declared yesterday, has received a grand felicitation and cash award
here today at the ERD Foundation, Guwahati.Maria and five more students have
cleared ACS this time from FACC, the competitive examination coaching centre of
ERDF. All the achiever students were felicitated and were paid back their entire
coaching fees.
Mahbubul Hoque, Chairman, ERD Foundation todayfelicitated and handed over cash
award of Rs 50,000 to Maria Tanim for her outstanding performance in the
competitive examination. Maria is the daughter of Kutub Uddin Barbhuya and
Ismtara Barbhuya and she hails from Hailakandi. Mr Sailen Baishya, the coach and
Director of FACC was also felicitated and awarded Rs 50,000 for his constant
effort and dedicated commitment towards teaching and guiding the students.
Students from FACC who have come with flying colours in the APSC 2016 exams are:
Koustabh Roy(ACS), Namrata Das(ACS), Moonsoon Barkataki(ALRS), Mausum Pratim
Nath (ACS)and Raj Ballabh Mahanta (AEO).
Addressing the ACS and UPSC aspirants and others present in the programme, the
first rank holder Maria Tanim said, “I am grateful to my mentors, Chairman
MHoque sir, coach Sailen Baishya sir and all the faculties for supporting me in
my journey. I worked with utmost honesty, perseverance and focus during my
preparation. I attended all the mock tests conducted by the my coaching center.
I was regular with my studies. I believe that having belief in myself,
persistent effort, dedication and hard work paid me. There is no short cut to
success and one should give his or her 100 per cent to achieve success. I want
to serve the state as per government rules with utmost integrity and honesty”.
“Poor meritorious students who want coaching and guidance are invited to
approach ERDF for educational support”, said M Hoque. Sailen Baishya, the
Director of FACC saidthat for exams like civil services, preparation duration
should be long, for example, 12 to 18 months to get a good result. Reading NCERT
books from school level is very essential. “Today I am very happy for the
success of my students”, he added.
Another flagship programme of ERDF which is now being implemented by USTM is
Hoque 20. Under this programme, 20 brilliant students are selected through
examinations, who are then awarded with full sponsorship for undergoing coaching
to appear in Civil Service Examinations. Only three months back, USTM celebrated
the success of 27 NET/ SLET/GATE qualified students by giving back their entire
course fees along with admission fees as per its ‘Pay Back Policy’.
