USTM hosted 300+ journalists of
IFWJ from across the country
University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya (USTM) organized the
“Interaction Between Local and Delegate Journalists” of the 123rd Working
Committee Meeting of Indian Federation of Working Journalists (IFWJ) on March
15, 2015 in Techno City campus.
The interactive session saw the discussion of various relevant issues pertaining
to the NER amongst the journalists that had gathered from all over India.
Foremost among them was the “negligence” of issues from North East in the
National Media, border issues, insurgency, illegal foreigners etc.
While welcoming the delegates, the Chancellor of the University Mahbubul Hoque
appealed to all media friends from other parts of the country to explore the
positive side of NE region and consider NE as integral part of the country. He
also urged the delegates to inculcate analytical approach and not to practice
negative and yellow journalism. He requested all media friends to play a vital
role in strengthening the unity in integrity and cultural arena of our great
country.
More than 300 journalists from all over India participated in this Interactive
Session. Mr. K. Vikram Rao, President; Mr. B. V. Mallikar Junaih and Mr. Manoj
Das, Vice Presidents; Mr. Parmanand Pandey, Secretary General of IFWJ were
present among the delegates.
After the interface, students of Regional Institute of Science & Technology and
University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya presented a colourful cultural
nite for the journalists.
After seeing the infrastructure and hospitality, all the journalists praised Mr
Hoque for the wonderful contribution in this part of the country. “His great
efforts must be recognized by the stakeholders of our country” said the
President and other important officials of IFWJ.
